Baraka

-This film was very interesting. Personally, the thing that captures my attention and keeps it is the emotion of a scene, whether that scene has living creatures or not, and this film definitely showed the emotion of every scene. The parts with human in them were especially interesting though. We take for granted how amazing people are in everyday-normal life but this movie showed the very essence of why people watching is so amazing. The different people, clothes, expressions, mannerisms, and energies of each individual was brought out so that you felt like you knew each of them just a little bit.
-The rest of the film, however long and tedious it could get, was interesting too. Some of the places that were shot were so wonderfully unexplored and spectacular that I couldn't have even imagined a place like it. The man who shot the film had such an eye for color and attractiveness, but what I saw was the specific character  for each place. Just seeing a few seconds of something shot in this style, I could almost think of the story behind everyplace. It was magnificent.

Facebook Photos

Dear Ms. Marinos,
There were some really awesome shot from the giants rally in the folder you showed me. I loved the emotion you captured within the photos, the San Francisco spirit was in the air and you got it. Another thing that caught my eye was the use of color to show just how the big event went down. I think my favorite picture is the one where the man is leaning in between the two signal posts. You could see the color of the lights, the anticipation of the parade to start and, in general, the lighting of the photo put a new perspective on the picture. Great Job!

Self Portraits

Who I am at school...
I feel this shows me at school because this wasnt just any free dress day, it was Go Green day and although you cant see my complete outfit i am wearing green to show my spirit and have my usuals in it too... my beat up vans and my favorite blue Ray-Bans...

Me with Friends
I had a sleepover with my friends and although it may look like just another teenage photo it actually tels each persons personality. When we yelled "Lets do mustaches" we all chose to do somthing differnt some used their hair and some decided to just make strange faces, but i when i heard that i grabbed the pen on the table and drew a quick mustache on my finger. Each of the these poses shows 1000 words for each persons personalities.

Me at Home
At home I constantly find my self on the floor with my laptop on a lapdesk and my binder with homework next to me. However, During the weekends or when ever I have free time, I now find myself hitting the SAT books. I have a schedule to follow to prepares myself for college and this weekend it was time to study the colleges themselves, hence the College Bible at my side.

How I View Myself
My Grandfather passed away earlier this year and, unfortuanatley I have never really had the time to go visit him much since his passing. I finally got my driver's license on monday but i waited till tuesday to make my first trip because I wanted my first ride to be to visit my grandpa. I also remembered he loved his pumpkins so I did make a quick detour to pick up two little pumpkins to bring for him.

Famous Portrait Photographer: Herb Ritts

Herb Ritts is considered one of the most influential portrait photographers of the 21st century. Ritts worked with a virtual who’s who of celebrities the world over and is celebrated for his black-and-white portraits taken in the style of classical Greek sculpture. Consequently, many consider him the grandfather of glamour photography. During the 1980s and 1990s, Ritts became the world’s leading celebrity portrait photographer. Some of his most famous work included the first pictures of a paralyzed Christopher Reeve and Elizabeth Taylor just days after she underwent brain surgery. Ritts’ notoriety also gained him unprecedented access to subjects, including President Ronald Reagan, actorJack Nicholson and singer Madonna, whose portraits have fetched millions of dollars.

This is a pictues taken on a very sunny day. While the highlights show up very well they are no darker light to accent it.
Citing: http://punkoryan.com/2009/07/28/sunny-days
The lighting in this picture use s very low lights to accent the subject, the surfer and his board

Although the main focus of this picture is nice the color of the lighting tends to be a little flat with not much accent in color
